How mediation can save you thousands in your divorce!

with Jeffrey M. Bloom, EJD

As someone that used a mediator in my divorce from my children’s father, I am well familiar with the topic of this webinar.  But, like so many things in life, I made some mistakes in my own divorce process that I want to save you from.   When you watch this webinar, you will have a clearer understanding of what mediation and mediators do and are, how it can save you THOUSANDS and you’ll also have a few resources on how you can find one near you.

The first thing you need to know is that mediation is voluntary and is not binding until a judge says it is! Then and only then is it binding.

So, we are going to be listening to that wonderful radio station WIIFM!  (that’s “What’s In It For Me!”)  Here are a few of the benefits:

  • You can resolve conflicts
  • Your mediator can uncover underlying issues, and bring them out for negotiations.
  • you develop a win/win strategy with your ex and your mediator.

According to our special guest, Jeffrey Bloom, mediators like helping people become the best possible versions of themselves. If that’s the end result, that alone makes the process a great solution!

The mistake I made and one that I hope you don’t, is that I failed to hire a consulting attorney to look out for me and what I am legally entitled to.  I believe it would have changed some of the numbers I ended up with, so please make sure you hire an attorney to go over your documents with you before you sign.

In this webinar you’ll learn about

  • Equal distribution of property
  • Child support
  • Residential parent
  • Pensions and 401(k)
  • Children’s college decisions
  • How to handle significant others when it comes to children (when do you introduce, etc)
  • Spousal support

According to Jeffrey Bloom,

  • Mediation is voluntary
  • Mediation is inexpensive
  • Mediation is a win/win
